Two arrested for armed robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people for an armed robbery in January.

Officials say four people were in a car on Rockhill Road in Wilmington around 5:20 p.m. on January 18 when another car pulled up and a woman got out and approached the victim’s car. They say a man also got out of the car and pulled a gun saying, “Give me everything”. When the victim’s tried to leave, deputies said the male suspect attempted to grab the keys and shot one round through the windshield. No one was hit. That’s when officials say the suspects ran from the scene.

After an investigation, detectives said they arrested 23-year-old Tashon Hicks and 17-year-old Dontasia Boney. Both are being charged with several felonies including robbery and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

This is an on going investigation and we will post updates as they come in.
