Two Brunswick County residents arrested after alleged domestic incident

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Two Brunswick County residents have been arrested and charged following an alleged domestic incident.

41-year-old Elizabeth Chavez and 45-year-old Jose Sanchez-Velasco were both arrested Saturday, and each was charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic violence.

According to court documents, Chavez hit Sanchez-Velasco in the face with a cellphone, and Sanchez-Velasco hit her in the face multiple times.

The documents alleged the two are in a relationship.

Both are set to make their first court appearance tomorrow morning at the Brunswick County Courthouse.
