Two charged after attempted home invasion

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies have charged two men with an attempted armed robbery.

A spokesman with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said D’Marcus Tyree Malik McMillian, 19, and Taquan Marquese Barrett, 17, were charged after trying to break into a home on Indian Trial overnight. Deputies said three men including the pair tried to force their way in after midnight at a home in the 4800 block with a gun but ended up leaving the scene in a car.

Both are facing attempted robbery charges and were booked in jail under $100,000 each. There’s no word on the third suspect.
