Two charged with kidnapping, burglary after Leland home break-in
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man and woman face charges after allegedly breaking into a home early Sunday morning and assaulting the man and woman inside.
Brenton Walter Ludke, 27, of Supply and Kaitlin Massey, 23, of Shallotte were arrested Sunday.
Ludke is charged with the following:
- First degree burglary
- Two counts of second degree kidnapping
- Simple assault
Massey is charged with:
- Assault by strangulation
- First degree burglary
- Two counts of second degree kidnapping
According to arrest warrants, Ludke and Massey broke into a home between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Cherrytree Road in Leland.
Warrants state they broke in for the ‘purpose of terrorizing’ the man and woman inside.
Warrants state Massey wrapped a yellow keychain coil and arm around the woman’s neck, causing her to ‘lose the ability to breathe’.
Ludke is accused of hitting the male victim.
Massey’s bond is $250,500 bond and Ludke’s bond is $150,000.
