Two New Hanover County detention employees test positive for COVID-19
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office employees assigned to the Detention Facility have tested positive for Covid-19, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The employees tested positive in the past 48 hours.
The sheriff’s office said they will continue working with the New Hanover County Health Department to ensure they are following the CDC’s guidelines while dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
These guidelines include:
· Everyone entering the facility has to have their temperature taken and logged in.
· Every inmate that is processed into the facility is screened by medical staff.
· Currently all employees and inmates once inside the facility must wear a facemask.
· Wait six feet apart from others and don’t gather in groups.
· Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds.
· Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched (like your phone, tablet, countertops and daily work surfaces).
