Two taken into custody following Wilmington shooting investigation

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two people are in custody following an ongoing investigation by the Wilmington Police Department into a shooting that occurred May 5 in the 500 block of Conley Drive.
According to police, detectives with the department’s Gun Crimes Unit coordinated with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksonville Police Department after identifying a suspect vehicle connected to the case.
Investigators said the vehicle was located and stopped by Jacksonville police officers on May 7. Detectives from Wilmington traveled to Jacksonville and executed a search warrant on the vehicle, where additional evidence related to the investigation was recovered.
As a result of the investigation, warrants were obtained for a 17-year-old male juvenile on multiple charges, including two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a handgun by a minor, discharging a firearm within city limits and damage to real property.
Authorities also charged Sabrina Tindall, 39, of Jacksonville, with felony accessory after the fact.
Police said detectives later executed a search warrant at a residence where both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Tindall is being held under a $5,000 secured bond.
The juvenile suspect was transported to the New Hanover County Department of Juvenile Justice and is being held without bond.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
