Two Columbus County accidents, two deaths

Columbus County roads have been deadly of late. Twenty-year-old Clayton McKoy of Clarkton died at the hospital Sunday, after being ejected from an SUV.

The vehicle was driven by 23-year-old Cedric McKoy, who was critically injured. They flipped after crossing the CSX railroad tracks on Shaw Road, west of Rieglewood. Neither man was wearing a seat belt.

Another man died Saturday from injuries suffered in a crash on Thursday. Seventy-one-year-old Charles Ward of Whiteville was heading east on 74-76 Thursday, when he veered off the road and into a tree between Whiteville and Wilmington.
