Two dead, two recovering after truck flips

SOUTHPORT — Two people are dead and two others are recovering after the pick-up they were riding in flipped over.

It happened along Highway 211 near Southport around 10 Saturday night.

The Highway Patrol says the car ran off the road and flipped over, killing 53-year-old Robert Brewer and 46-year-old Michael Eller — both of Wilkes County.

Crews took two other people to Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport.

No word yet on their condition.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
