Two parasailers die off Ocean Isle Beach

A vacation turned deadly Friday afternoon when two female visitors died parasailing off Ocean Isle Beach with family.

It happened late Friday afternoon on the east end of the beach. One witness said that two people were dragged for quite a distance before being tangled in the pier. Another witness reported there was a large gust of wind just before the accident.

The Coast Guard is investigating the incident and have not released details of the tragedy. The names of the victims have not been released while their families are notified.
