U.S. Marshals arrest man wanted for Gores Row murder


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  Wilmington Police say the man wanted for shooting and killing a man in April is in the Davidson County jail.

Police say Anthony Darelle Stokes, 37, is facing a second degree murder charge in the shooting death of  Vincent Lamont Blakely, 35.

US Marshals found Stokes  around 10:00 a.m. in Thomasville, NC.

Blakely was shot and killed on April 18 in the 100 block of Gores Row.

Stokes is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and is in jail under no bond awaiting transport to New Hanover County for his first court appearance.
