UNCW kicks off move-in day for freshmen

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The kids are back in town this weekend, and UNCW welcomed 2,100 freshman to their new home Saturday morning.

The move-in crew of almost 1,900 older students helped new students get settled in their dorms. Crews were out and about, moving boxes and getting people excited about coming back to school.

Junior Theodore Winan started working at 6am to help get ready.

“It’s really awesome just to come out and help everyone. Because when I moved in here, everyone was here to help me move in. So it’s just great to watch all these freshmen come in,” said Winan.

Winan says this is his first year on the move-in crew that students of all ages are always excited to get out there and spread the excitement.
