WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW is preparing to host its annual Intercultural Festival.

The event is happening on Saturday, January 31 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Burney Center on UNCW’s Campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

WWAY spoke with Jennifer Fernandez-Villa, the Director of International Students and Scholars, to learn more about the event.

“On a Saturday you can really travel the world right here from the UNCW campus,” Fernandez-Villa said.

The celebration of world cultures will feature music, dance, food, art, an Earth Balloon, and about 40 informational country and community booths.

“Through the booths our international students, our international faculty they set up educational booths to talk about their country, different customs,” Fernandez-Villa said. “This year it’s particularly kid friendly. We have some princesses like Moana and others stopping by.”

There will be parking available in the Visitor Lot next to the Fisher Field House.
