UNCW professor selected as UNC System Faculty Fellow
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Nathaniel Grove, a chemistry professor and the Director of the Center for the Support of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, has been chosen as one of three UNC System Faculty Fellows for the upcoming year.
As a Faculty Fellow, Grove will collaborate with two other professors from the UNC System to conduct research aimed at enhancing transfer student success. Grove expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, highlighting the importance of prioritizing student success.
“Every student that comes to UNCW, every student that goes to Chapel Hill, whatever the institution is, we want them to be as successful as they can be. If there are things we can do to make that experience smoother for them, we should be doing that,” Grove said.
Grove’s collaborative research will focus on identifying and implementing strategies to improve the overall experience and success rates of transfer students within the UNC System.
The Faculty Fellowship will span the entirety of the 2024 calendar year, allowing Grove and his counterparts to delve into comprehensive research and formulate recommendations that may positively impact transfer student outcomes across the UNC System.
