UNCW students head to Philadelphia for Pope Francis’ visit


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tomorrow the pope heads to Philadelphia and at UNCW today, a group of students packed their boarded a bus for the city of brotherly love.

Students with the Catholic Campus Ministry have been planning their trip for about a year. They said they are extremely excited for a chance to listen to the pope at Sunday Mass.

“Just to hear the words. He is an amazing humble man. And so just to hear his words and be in his presence will be an amazing experience,” said Ministry President Mary Jakowiak.

The students said they are excited to be able to share their faith with millions of Catholics from around the country and around the world on Sunday.
