UNCW students host a different kind of toy drive

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Students at UNCW held a different kind of toy drive this afternoon at the Pet Supermarket on Oleander Drive.

The toy drive for the puppies of Paws Place was part of the student’s charity challenge project for a class at the university. According to one of the project partners, the group fell in love with Paws Place and the dogs who live there and wanted to give back by doing more than just raising money.

“These are all rescue puppies and it’s something that they can do, it will help with mental anxiety and stuff like that and just make them feel like they have a home,” said freshman Rebekah Magistrelli.

The two pups who came out for the event today are available for adoption and the students said you can always donate to Paws Place even if you couldn’t make it out this afternoon.
