UNCW to move Black Lives Matter banners into art exhibit

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW will remove Black Lives Matter banners that were hung around campus this summer and put them in an art exhibit.

According to an email from Chancellor Jose Sartarelli, a new policy has been put in place regarding banners, posters, and signs.

Under it, the university will work to transition BLM banners placed on campus to a collective art exhibit.

The exhibit will be housed in the center of campus.
