UNCW in touch with students in Paris after attacks

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW students studying in Paris have been accounted for and are safe after a series of terror attacks in the French capital last night, the school says.

UNCW spokeswoman Janine Iamunno says there are 13 students taking part in the Paris: The NC Consortium Program, which is administered by UNCW. She says the university has been in touch with all of the students, including eight from UNCW, two from Elon University and one each from High Point University, NC State and UNC Chapel Hill, and their emergency contacts.

Iamunno also says the school has been in touch with three other UNCW students who had notified the university they were traveling in Paris this week. Those students are also safe.
