UNCW welcomes freshmen at convocation

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A sea of nearly 2,000 fresh teal shirts worn by the class of 2015 met at the clock tower on the UNCW campus this morning for convocation. It is the official academic welcome for freshmen.

Following the meeting at the clock tower, the new students led by returning classmates, went to meet this semester’s teachers, faculty and other classmates.

“Oh, I’m hyped,” UNCW freshman Christ Mowandga-Ndinga said. “I just want to start it and you know start the year and see how everything is going like with studies and managing my time and hanging out with people, so I’m ready for it.”

UNCW’s fall semester classes officially begin Wednesday morning.
