UNCW film students join up with Cucalorus Festival

UNCW film students were able to rub elbows with filmmakers Thursday night as part of the Cucalorus Festival. The Cornish Pepper Shorts debuted Thursday night. It featured multiple films created by a handful of UNCW students.

More than 100 passes were given to the film study majors to attend. It was a chance to get a taste of the real world.

Matt Delman, “Titan” co-creator said, “You can’t get it in a classroom, you can’t get it from a text book, it really just comes from meeting other filmmakers and being a part of the festival.”

“It’s just been great interacting with other filmmakers, talking, making friends, makes all this worth the time, the energy, the money,” added “Titan” co-creator, Jayson Barber.

The students also volunteered at the festival by helping usher and taking tickets at the Lumina Theatre.
