UNCW hosts Native American Showcase

UNCW celebrated Native American heritage Saturday.

The university hosted its first Native American Showcase for the public. In honor of Native American heritage month, representatives from four different tribes were on hand to share their culture.

Kimberly McLaughlin-Smith, UNCW’s multi-cultural coordinator said, “Inviting them to share that culture and those portions of the various cultures with us today has really been our honor. They say it has been theirs, but it has been ours to share and enjoy.”

The showcase highlighted artwork, crafts and music inspired by Native Americans.
