UNCW receives national recognition
WILMINGTON — UNCW is receiving national recognition.
US News and World Report ranked the school in the top ten public master’s universities in the south.
It was ranked sixth, one spot higher than last year. UNCW was also ranked 14th of 119 southern public and private schools that offer undergraduate and master’s programs.
Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo says she’s excited to receive the good news just before the start of the school year.
“We really care about class size and recruiting the best faculty and retaining the best faculty — and that’s what we’ve been focused on, and that means it results in those higher rankings, it’s not necessarily the rankings we’ve been focused on,” DePaolo said.
UNCW’s fall enrollment is expected to be nearly 12,000 students.
