UNCW students face even bigger tuition hike

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Mired in budget cuts, UNCW trustees have approved a 19-percent tuition increase for in-state undergraduates. That’s $430 per student.

The increase is almost nine times as high as students had expected, but it will keep the university from losing 23 staff and 15 faculty positions. The increase will generate about $5 million for the university.
