UNCW students offer hugs

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you spent any time on the UNC Wilmington campus on Monday, you may have gotten a hug from a group of Seahawk huggers.

The group roamed across campus soliciting hugs. It was a spontaneous effort with no strings attached. They were not raising money. They just wanted to do something fun as the spring semester winds down.

“We’re doing this to spread love and to show people that we love them,” sophomore Josh Scott said. “It’s incredible and amazing. It’s exam week right now, so it should destress people. We’ve had people that we’ve made their day just by hugging them. It’s awesome.”

Final exams start at UNCW Wednesday.
