UNCW’s Reel Teal Film Festival gets rolling Friday night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW’s student-run Reel Teal Film Festival, featuring films from both across our area and includes some international submissions, gets rolling Friday night.

Going into its 9th year, organizers say this time around audiences can expect even more than before. With two blocks of films, nearly 30 submissions will hit the screen during the big event. Each block includes several different categories, with most films running only a few minutes long.

It all comes down to the audience choice awards, plus the big grand prize winner will be named during the festival. One of the festival’s organizers stopped by Good Morning Carolina to detail what audiences can expect.

The Reel Teal Film Festival kicks off Friday at 7 p.m. at UNCW’s Lumina Theater. Tickets are available at Sharky’s Box Office an hour prior to the event.
