Unemployment numbers hit all time highs
There is some bleak economic news for North Carolina. Unemployment numbers in February reached their highest point since these stats have been kept beginning in 1976.
The jobless rate is now 10.7%, which is up from 9.7% in January.
The US Labor Department reported seven states with unemployment rates topping 10%.
Michigan’s came in on top, as their jobless rate climbed to 12%. South Carolina registered the second highest at 11%, and Oregon came in third at 10.8%. North Carolina was fourth.
