Unit at NC Army post to hold meeting on FL move
FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Officials from Florida are visiting North Carolina to promote the upcoming move of a Special Forces team to their state.
The work force boards from two Florida counties will host a town hall meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday in Fayetteville. The meeting will address employment, education and housing issues. There will also be booths where organizations representing Oskaloosa and Walton counties will hand out information.
About 2,200 soldiers and 4,000 family members from the 7th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg will move to Eglin Air Force Base in 2011. The move was ordered in 2005 by the Base Realignment and Closure Commission.
