UPDATE: City of Wilmington to exchange property with CFCC

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington City Council approved a land swap with Cape Fear Community College Tuesday night.

The city wants the property on 900 N. 2nd Street which CFCC is currently using for maintenance and storage. In exchange, the city will give them the parking lot at 320 N. Front Street.

The city manager says the land they want sits closer to property they already own and will likely improve future economic development. This exchange will be parcel for parcel, meaning there will be no monetary exchange.
