UPDATE: Man killed while crossing Carolina Beach Rd.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Highway Patrol has confirmed one man is dead after trying to cross the road at the 5300 block of Carolina Beach Road near the Lowes Foods and Burger King.

The accident happened around 9 p.m.

Highway patrol said the man was illegally in the roadway, and did not yield to traffic. There will be no charges filed against the driver.
