UPDATE: Silver Lake boil advisory lifted

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has lifted a Boil Water Advisory after a scheduled service outage in the Silver Lake area.

The outage took place while crews work to install new fire hydrants and affected about 80 customers.

The boil water advisory covers all of Musevale Drive, Arnold Drive, Bellwood Court, Arrow Court, and Manteo Court. It is issued after the outage because periods of low or no pressure increase the potential for the introduction of bacteria into the water system according to a spokesman.
