UPDATE: Wilmington Police say pedestrian hit by car cited
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police say a pedestrian who was hit by a car in a busy Wilmington intersection was cited for crossing in the middle of a block.
Wilmington Police say the accident happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Eastwood Road and Racine Drive. Officers say that’s where the pedestrian wearing dark clothing was walking across the street in an area not designated as a crosswalk.
Police say the pedestrian was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. After investigating, officers say they determined that the driver will not be charged in the crash. Police cited the pedestrian with crossing the street in an unmarked area.
