Validated gang member arrested in Houston Moore shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – The suspect wanted for a shooting last month in the Houston Moore community is now behind bars.

Police arrested Hakiem Sherif Williams, 20, this morning.

The shooting happened September 27 in the 1500 block of East Plaza.  The victim in that shooting was later released from the hospital.

Williams is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of obtaining property by false pretense, interfering with an electronic monitoring device, and a parole violation.

He is in jail under a $260,000 bond.
