Verdict for Wilmington man charged with running gambling operation

There is a guilty verdict for a Wilmington man charged with running an illegal gambling operation out of his pools and spas business.

A federal jury convicted William Joseph Inman of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Investigators testified that Inman would sit at the front door of his business with a handgun nearby. He ran Two Trees Pools and Spas on North Kerr Avenue.

Inman was shot by an officer during a raid on the gambling operation. According to the search warrant, the officer fired after seeing Inman pull a gun out of a desk drawer.
