Verizon call center donated gifts to ten needy families

The holiday spirit was alive and well at the Verizon Wilmington call center Friday.

Piles of donated gifts from employees were ready to be sent off to area needy families. Employees donated gifts for ten families who are under the care of Wilmington’s Domestic Violence Shelter. This is the fifth year Verizon employees have donated to the shelter.

Verizon coordinator, Michael O’Connor said, “It’s a major focus of the company domestic violence awareness, not just in this call center but nationally as well. It’s all because of the employees, every year anything we ask of them they give us.”

Employees were able to gather more than 100 gifts to donate to families.
