Woman wanted after victim drives himself to hospital after being shot in face


WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville Police are searching for the woman accused of shooting a man in the face.

Police have warrants for Tabitha Reaves, 18, for assault with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury and common law obstruction of justice.

It stems from a shooting where the man drove himself to the hospital after being shot in the face last night.

Police say they responded to a shots fired call at Kent Place Apartments on Tram Road around 10:45 p.m. When they arrived, they received a call from Columbus Regional saying a gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital.

Officers say Elijah Lamont McCutchen, 26, drove himself to the hospital. Police secured his vehicle at the hospital to search for evidence.

Officers returned to the apartment complex and discovered the shooting happened at 116 Tram Rd. Apt 1-F, which is Reaves’s last known address.

Detectives are working on leads to determine what happened inside the apartment .

Investigators say McCutchen is in stable condition at the hospital.
