Victims of apartment fire out of hotels, into new homes

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A spokesman with the American Red Cross says every family affected by a kitchen fire earlier this week has a new home.

Fire crews say an accidental kitchen fire at the Glenn Apartments Monday displaced 14 families or about 30 people. James Jarvis with the Red Cross says today that all of the families have been relocated into homes and are now out of hotels.

The fire caused almost $750,000 in damages to the complex, investigators said.
