Vigil for Paitin Fields to be held Saturday in Pender County

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — It’s been five months and one week since a Pender County child died and we’re still no closer to knowing who killed her.

There will be a vigil to remember her Saturday.

Paitin Fields died on November 15.

The community is coming together to hold a vigil at 7 p.m. at the Pender County Courthouse gazebo.

Investigators believe she was raped and strangled.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is still waiting for autopsy results to come back.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office says they have 6 months to complete the autopsy. The deadline is in mid-May.
