Vigil held for missing Leland woman
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Family and friends of a missing Leland woman held a candlelight vigil Tuesday night to help spread the word of her disappearance and pray for her.
Family said Alicia Marie Deans disappeared on April 28.
There were a lot of tears and prayers at the Leland Town Hall Park as people talked about how lively the 26-year-old is, and how much she loves her two children.
Alicia’s father, James Deans, said he doesn’t know how to describe what it feels like to not know where his daughter is.
“No way to describe that,” he said. “You fall asleep, you wake up. You go to sleep, you wake up and in a few minutes, you think about it. Conditions are where, you’ve heard things. You’ve heard she might be here, she might be there, and you don’t want to be like that, so you just hope for better things.”
Brunswick County Deputies said Alica Deans was likely heading to Whiteville to visit a friend.
She is 5’7” and 160 lbs with hazel eyes, dark hair, and several tattoos. Her car is a 2005 green Ford Taurus with license plate of CLS 5844.
If you know anything, please call the Brunswick County Sheriff’s office.
