Virgin Atlantic thanks ILM for help
Virgin Atlantic representatives said thank you to ILM employees Thursday.
Last month, a 300 passenger Virgin Atlantic Airbus traveling to London had to make an emergency landing at the Wilmington International Airport. ILM officials were ready and willing to help the flight crew and passengers.
To say thank you, Virgin Atlantic representatives gave airport officials a model of the aircraft.
“If we ever have an aircraft that needs to revert, this will be the number one place I would recommend. I can tell you I’ll be coming back here for sure, and I think a lot of British citizens may be returning here as well,” said Virgin Atlantic representative, Beau Vanderford.
Virgin Atlantic representatives said they were impressed at how quickly the passengers were taken care of. They said the airport opened immediately and began putting the passengers up at local hotels.
