Volunteers present Southport hospital with six-figure check
SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — Flea market sales, along with other programs put together by volunteers, has given a Brunswick County hospital some big cash.
Last month, volunteers at Dosher Memorial Hospital presented a $122,301.67 check to Dosher President & CEO Tom Siemers. A hospital spokesman said the money was used for recliners, sleeping sofas and other furniture; equipment for the fitness center and physical therapy and other items.
There are more than 200 volunteers in the Dosher Hospital Volunteer organization, according to its website.
