Volunteers provide Thanksgiving lunch and flu shots

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Word Changing Hearts Ministries partnered with Douglass Academy to provide a Thanksgiving lunch and free flu shots to folks in the community.

The Health Department and MedNorth Health Center were also there to provide health screenings and information about health care at their facility, respectively. The flu shots were provided by a local Walgreens store.

Word Changing Hearts Ministries has been putting on this event for the past 14 years.

“We realize that there’s people in our community that are homeless or less fortunate, and we want to show them some love,” Pastor Darwin Murrill said. “You may not be able to do something big, but what little you do counts.”
