Waccamaw Police arrest second murder suspect

Lake Waccamaw Police have arrested a second person in the murder of a 22-year-old man after a high school football game in late September.

Police picked up 16-year-old Marquell Hunter Tuesday and charged him with first-degree murder.

Lake Waccamaw’s police chief says Hunter is one of two drive-by shooters who opened fire at Sam’s Pit Stop after the Whiteville-East Columbus football game.

Police arrested Connail Reeves in late September. He’s also charged with murder. Investigators say Reeves was the driver.

One more arrest is expected.
