Wake County discards 35,000 lbs. of meat
WAKE COUNTY — Thirty-five thousand of pounds of bad beef bought by Wake County schools is headed to the landfill.
The meat was part of the nation’s largest recall in us history.
The school district pulled more than 1,300 cases of recalled beef from warehouse freezer shelves and hauled it away.
More than 250 cases of taco, spaghetti, and hamburger meat remain in wake county schools waiting to be picked up later this week.
Some of it has already been eaten. But so far no one has gotten sick.
