Wanted robbery, kidnapping suspect arrested in New Hanover County


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – A woman wanted in Mecklenburg County on robbery, assault and kidnapping charges is in the New Hanover County jail.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says they received a tip that Michelle Marie Boring, 45, was in the area.  Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer says deputies found Boring and pulled her over for a traffic stop. Lt. Brewer says they found meth and other drugs in her car.

Lt. Brewer says they got a search warrant and found more drugs in her home.

According to warrants from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Boring was wanted for two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Second Degree Kidnapping, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Conspiracy Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

In New Hanover County, she’s charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Opium or Heroin, Possession of LSD, Possession of Cocaine, and several other drug related charges.

She was placed under a $410,000 bond.

The charges out of Mecklenburg County were later dismissed.

In January of 2019, Boring pleaded guilty in New Hanover County court to Trafficking in Methamphetamine. As part of the plea deal, the other drug charges were dismissed.

She received a 32-48 month active sentence.
