Warrant: Mom accused of poisoning left note

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New details in the case of a New Hanover County mom arrested for allegedly poisoning her nine-year-old daughter and cat. Search warrants provide a more detailed look at what happened.

According to a search warrant, a note was found in Jeannie Marvel’s home that said, “I’m sorry, and I am taking the child and cat with me. I am depressed.”

Emergency workers found a bottle marked roach killer and several prescription medications on Marvel’s kitchen counter.

Marvel is charged with attempted murder and animal cruelty.
