WILMINGTON, NC (UNCW) — UNCW women’s track and field program edged Toledo, 153-134, to win the UNCW Seahawk Invitational on Saturday at soggy Greene Track & Field Complex.

The Seahawk men were stunned by Division III foe Salisbury, 169-165, as the Gulls rallied past UNCW for the meet championship.

The Seahawk women totaled nine top-3 finishes on the afternoon, including a sweep of the top three spots in the 100 Hurdles as Kayli Nichols took first with a time of 14.98 and was followed by Krista Mangum (15.04) and Valerie Afam (15.12).

Adding a win for the UNCW women was the 4×100 Relay of Gabriella Robinson, Ari Whiteside, Sarah Whitman and Hailey Blackburn.

Cameron Shaw swept the 100 and 200 meters for the second straight weekend. Shaw clocked in with a time of 10.59 in the 100 and later went 21.54 in the 200. He also ran the second leg of UNCW’s winning 4×100 Relay.

Winning events for the men were the 4×100 Relay of Zach Harris, Shaw, Cam Walton and Brandon McLean, Bryan Brackney in the 1500, Vincent Ragland in the 110 Hurdles and Trip Foreman, Jamar Collins-Hall, Cody Love and Rian Fowler on the 4×400 Relay.

Walton won the Triple Jump with a mark of 49-9, narrowly missing his career best of 49-9.25.

The Seahawks continue their outdoor slate when they visit Myrtle Beach on Mar. 19-21 for the Shamrock Invitational.
