HAPPENING TONIGHT: Water service interruption in Lake Waccamaw
LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) — Water service will be interrupted for some residents in Lake Waccamaw Monday, April 4.
According to a release, due to construction on the Cove Canal Road bridge, the existing water main and sewer force main will be relocated. Officials say the majority of the new water and sewer mains will be installed before service is interrupted. Many of the new lines were installed last week without major interruption, but service must be temporarily interrupted to connect to the existing lines.
The water service interruption is scheduled today from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. The interruption will affect those around Canal Cove Rd., Waccamaw Shores Road, parts of Flemington and Weaver Drive, and all homes in the Wooded Acres sub-division serviced by the Town of Lake Waccamaw water system.
Officials suggest drawing water before the outage starts. A Boil Water Advisory will be in effect immediately after water is available.
The construction is scheduled for tonight, however weather or other factors could change that.
