Water line ruptures at Hoggard High School
WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – At approximately 11:57 a.m. today, a supply water line in the boy’s bathroom on the second floor of Building D at Hoggard High School failed, allowing water into all twelve classrooms on the second floor. Water drained down some of the walls on the first floor.
Approximately 360 students were affected. The students were relocated to the gym and other parts of the campus until dismissal.
The water leak has been repaired and clean up is currently underway. Water extraction will be complete within the next few hours. Fans will be set up to dry the building during the night. The district anticipates normal operation at Hoggard tomorrow.
