Waynesville man charged with shooting cat with arrow
WAYNESVILLE, NC (AP) – A Haywood County man has been arrested and accused of shooting a pet cat with a bow and arrow.
Sheriff’s deputies said 22-year-old Buddy Rayvon Leger III of Waynesville was charged Thursday with felony animal cruelty.
A statement from the sheriff’s office said officers were called Aug. 29 by a homeowner who said she found one of her pet cats on her bed with an arrow in its body.
Deputies say they discovered arrows Thursday that were similar to the one found in the cat.
It was not clear if Leger has a lawyer.
Deputies did not release information about a motive in the case.
