Weather bad, but not as bad as December in Bladen County

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Another wintry day, but the snow in Bladen County did not cause as much trouble as last month’s storm.

Emergency management officials say as of Monday at noon, the were no major power outages in Bladen. A shelter was opened in Elizabethtown for those needing a warm place to stay.

Emergency management says the biggest problem they’re facing is road conditions.

“Emergency crews are having a difficult time getting around,” said Bradley Kinlaw, Bladen County Emergency Management Director. “DOT is definitely out working on the primary routes. We’re just asking everybody if they don’t need to be out, then please stay home.”

The county closed the shelter at 8:30 p.m. Monday because no one used it.
