Wednesday is National HIV Awareness Day
WILMINGTON — You could be HIV-positive and not even know it — that’s the message behind National HIV Awareness Day.
According to the Coastal Carolina HIV Care Consortium there are nearly 50,000 people living with the disease in North Carolina.
Twenty-five percent of those infected don’t even know it, most of them teenagers.
